Surfaces must be dry, clean and free from debris.
Remove fungus or mould with a solution of fungus cleaner and water.
Rinse with water and allow to dry.
Sand the surface, first with a medium grit sandpaper
(80 – 100-grit) followed by a fine sandpaper (220-grit).
This will create a good bond between the wood and the coating to ensure agood finish.
Wipe the wood with a damp cloth. Stir Maxicare® thoroughly to ensure pigment and paint are completely mixed. Using a brush with fine hair, apply one thin coat with smooth even strokes in the direction of the grain.
Allow to dry for at least 4 hours. Re-sand the surface lightly with 220-grit paperand apply a second thin coat.
If a third coat is needed, repeat steps above.
Step 1: Remove all flaking and peeling paint on surface.
Step 2: Sand and wipe with damp cloth to remove dust. Proceed as described above in “Raw surface application.”
Spreading rate should be 8 – 10 m2/l and will vary depending on how porous the wood is.
Store out of direct sunlight, between 5 – 38°C. Maxicare® water base must not be allowed to freeze.
Maximum shelf life of 12 months.
Seal all six sides properly.
Ensure all rebates are sealed prior to glazing.
Seal all sides of beading.
It is not recommended that Maxicare® Water-Base Sealant be applied overMaxicare® Oil-Based Sealant and vice versa.

The NEW Maxicare® Maintenance Kit is designed to make wooden window and door maintenance easier and more cost effective. Inspect windows and doors at the start of each season and use the Maxicare® Maintenance Kit as per below.
Contents: Cleaning Agent, Protective Emulsion, Protective Glaze, Sponge.
First clean the timber section with warm water and a lint-free cloth. If necessary a mild cleaning agent can be added to the water.
Apply the Maxicare® Cleaning Agent to the timber surface. Allow it to work for a few minutes and then remove, using the enclosed sponge and lots of water. Allow to dry.
Apply the Protective Emulsion evenly on to the timber surface. This will seal any fine cracks or blemishes and restore the original colour. It will also provide advanced protection to the surface.
Repair small scratches and hairline cracks with ease. (maximum 2 cm in diameter) Roughen area briefly and apply the Protective Glaze.
