Aluminium doors and windows are not new to the market, but advancements in design and technology have asserted this product as a quality one that stands up there with the big guys.
So much so, that Swartland has introduced a new aluminium range made to the same superior standards as their hardwood windows and doors. “Our recently launched KENZO range of aluminium windows and doors not only looks good, but it is also durable, low-maintenance, energy efficient and affordable to boot,” points out Swartland’s Dylan Miller, who goes on to explain the benefits of these superior products:
Spoilt for choice
“Aluminium is such a versatile material, providing an endless array of options when it comes to design, size, and colour,” explains Dylan. Those with an eye for detail are catered for, thanks to a wide range of finishes that allow customers to match their aluminium windows and doors to their colour palette of choice. Dylan notes how the KENZO range of aluminium windows and doors for example, are available off-shelf in a selection of timeless powder-coated colours, including silver, bronze, charcoal and white.
They are also available in a wide variety of sizes, which ensures high levels of versatility. “Aluminium is know for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio that enables it to be manufactured into doors and windows of various sizes and shapes,” explains Dylan, pointing out the various styles Swartland offers: clear and obscure glazing options, tophung, side-hung, horizontal gliding, side light windows, fold-a-side and sliding doors.
Oh so durable
The KENZO range of aluminium windows and doors are highly robust and durable as they’re made from strong, lightweight aluminium alloy frames that require little maintenance. “A simple wipe down with a damp cloth is all that is needed to keep your aluminium windows looking on top form,” nods Dylan, attesting to the fact that these products can last many years with minimal effort and upkeep.
Additionally, aluminium is not prone to warp, crack, split, discolour, rot, swell or rust, even when exposed to the sometimes harsh South African environmental conditions such as sunlight, rain, wind and damp. Says Dylan: “Swartland’s range of aluminium windowsand doors are manufactured to the highest manufacturing standards in our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, ensuring they are resistant to the elements and that they weather well. As a result, Swartland’s KENZO range of aluminium windows and doors have an extended product life and come with a 3-year manufacturer’s guarantee for added peace of mind.”
The current state of the urban environments we inhabit is cause to be more environmentally conscious – from the food we eat, the cars we drive, right down to the windows and doors we choose for our homes. And Swartland is leading the pack when it comes to going green. “All the products in the KENZO range are SANS 613-approved, which means that, not only do they comply with all the necessary local building regulations, but they are also an environmentally responsible choice,” points out Dylan. The lightweight nature of aluminium means it’s easier to transport and thus has a reduced carbon footprint, whilst it also has one of the highest recycling rates of all the metals on the market. “Many materials can be recycled, but what is key with aluminium is the fact that it’s recycling process only requires five percent of the initial energy consumed to create it,” nods Dylan.
High performance aluminium windows and doors play a vital role in providing the correct ventilation and insulation for your home, ensuring that it maintains a good temperature without having to be excessively heated or cooled. “Advancements in the thermal performance of aluminium products have helped them to meet, and sometimes even exceed, energy efficiency standards, thus improving the overall energy efficiency of ones house,” explains Dylan.
Over and above that, the KENZO range of aluminium doors and windows never need to be painted, as they are already powder-coated , which is the least harmful process to the environment when compared to other processes such as anodized coating. “Overall, the benefits of this range of aluminium products shows a commitment that is deeply engrained into the Swartland culture,” affirms Dylan.
